About Me

“No one ever made a decision because of a number — they need a story.”

— Daniel Kahneman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences

I have a decade of experience leading public relations programs for global brands and organizations in complex sectors spanning higher education, financial, professional, and commercial real estate services.

My professional story began in the main press office for The University of Texas at Austin.

There, I helped university leadership navigate high-stakes media crises and issues, protect one of the most valuable brands in higher education, and tell the story of how What Starts Here Changes the World™.

Through that experience, I became interested in how compelling storytelling can strengthen relationships between organizations and the stakeholders they serve.

That interest has fueled my communications career from higher education to professional, financial, and commercial real estate services. This includes leading PR and corporate communications in Texas for CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm and a Fortune 200 company with more than 130,000 employees and 500 offices globally.

Now, I have a decade of experience positioning global brands in competitive markets through media relations, executive messaging, and content strategy. I enjoy shaping media narratives to make complex ideas accessible to wider audiences.

I have media relationships that deliver results, including placements in Tier 1 outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. I understand modern media landscapes, especially for business or Texas-focused news. And, I understand how strategic communications can impact an organization’s ability to fulfill its missions in times of crisis, controversy, and rapid change. (Are there any other kinds of times in the history of humanity?)

In the next phase of my career, I’m looking for opportunities to discover new ways to tell stories that move people…

…because emerging technologies like AI will only increase the value of creative communications…

…because numbers and facts never actually speak for themselves…

…because narratives drive behavior – and markets (even in The Matrix).

Outside my career, I enjoy running and hiking Austin’s trails, volunteering with The Junior League of Austin, and celebrating the Texas Longhorns being good at football again. I am also a member of the Austin yoga, stand-up comedy, and Pomeranian-owner communities.
